Envisage, 2019, – The idea for this piece came to me after a psychedelic experience. At the time, I wasn't aiming for a specific image; instead, I was trying to incorporate various visual cues that helped me process and understand what I had experienced. As I worked, a being began to take shape, and that's when I started to sculpt what you see before you.
Looking back at this piece years later, it still holds the same mysterious aura as when I first created it. I interpret the being as a reminder of the subtle energies and thought structures that lie beyond the veil. When the veil is lifted, everything is revealed as energy, vibrating and permeating existence, crystallizing in our consciousness.
At the same time, the being seems to act as a guardian. With its hands raised, it feels as though it is cautioning us to respect the sacrament and the experiences that lie beyond the veil. Envisage took me approximately 60 hours to complete and measures 34x42".
How do you interpret it? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
