Godhead

Godhead

Godhead is inspired by the idea of collective consciousness. Collective consciousness is the theory that all of our conscious experiences are stored in a super consciousness, and that we can recall those stored memories and relive them as though we are an essence of those memories.

I wanted to depict this theory in a way that was visually tangible and easily digestible for those unfamiliar with the idea, so I thought—what better way to communicate this concept than as a being with multiple heads, all acting as one entity? Each being represents a facet of the collective consciousness, similar to how a crystal has many faces—so does consciousness.

This piece is a reminder that we are all multidimensional beings, capable of transcending time and space through thought, and that ultimately, we are all one and the same in essence you are me and I am you.

About Samuel Farrand

Samuel Farrand is one of the leading artists in today’s psychedelic art movement, with work featured at Meow Wolf in Las Vegas and Santa Fe, showcased on the cover of Chris Kilham’s Ayahuasca: A Test Pilot's Handbook, a cult bestseller that aired live on CNN, and seen across immersive installations at Burning Man and global psytrance festivals. He has exhibited alongside pioneers like Alex Grey and Android Jones, and collaborated with legendary projection artist Jonathan Singer, known for his work with the Grateful Dead’s Fare Thee Well tour and trip-hop icon Dave Tipper.
