Spyrogea - 2022, I love aquatic lifeforms such as sea anemones, jellyfish, cuttlefish, etc. With this piece, I wanted to combine all the fascinating forms of the ocean into one artwork and make it appear bioluminescent, so it resembled an alien life form—something you might see on another planet or that might push the limits of your experience if viewed during a psychedelic moment. I really enjoy creating pieces that question reality. I wanted this to evoke a sense of both familiarity and unfamiliarity at the same time, creating a subtle tension for the viewer. There's a lot of geometry in this piece, which also acknowledges the geometry one can find in nature if you look closely enough. Spyrogea took me approximately 30 hours to complete and measures 48x48". Prints Available
